This Bitcoin4U machine is inside Capilano Cloud Shop, in a short row of shops on 101 Avenue in east Edmonton, a couple of blocks east of where 101 Avenue meets 75 Street and Wayne Gretzky Drive. From the sidewalk, look for the green ATM sign glowing in the front window, beside the shoe repair and dry cleaner. Inside, the white kiosk sits by the wall beside the candy and gum rack. You can buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, USD Coin, Solana or XRP here with Canadian bills, never a card, and as the NOT A CASH ATM label on the front says, the kiosk never pays cash out.
New customers get verified one time only. Scan the VERIFY YOUR ID sticker just below the screen, or open bitcoin4u.ca/register before you come; your phone then asks for a picture of your government ID, a selfie, what you do for work, where you live and your cell number, and the check is normally finished inside a minute. From then on a visit is short: touch the screen, show the receive QR code from your wallet app to the scanner, insert your bills and confirm, and the coins reach your wallet within minutes. Purchases of up to $40,000 a day are possible, depending on your verification level.
The rate is shown and locked in the moment you begin, and it holds while you insert bills and confirm; the fees page on bitcoin4u.ca has the current fee. Receipts go by email to the address on your account, and anyone without one on file can ask for a copy at bitcoin4u.ca/receipt. If a caller sent you here to pay a fine or a bill, it is a scam, as the red label under the screen warns: walk away, and send coins only to a wallet that is yours. Questions go to Bitcoin4U, a Canadian cryptocurrency exchange that operates this kiosk. Anyone in east Edmonton with bills in hand can stop in.
