All documents and personal information are stored securely and in accordance with our privacy policy. Why Bitcoin4U verifies your identity
Bitcoin4U is operated by Innovative Horizon Technologies Inc., a money services business registered with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC). Under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Regulations, every Canadian dealer in virtual currency has to confirm who a customer is before that customer buys or sells cryptocurrency. That is why registration comes first, whether you plan to buy Bitcoin with cash at one of our crypto ATMs or online with Interac e-Transfer. You only do it once.
What you will need
- A cellphone number that can receive a text message - we send a 5-digit code to it.
- An email address you can check straight away.
- Your full home address. Post boxes, office addresses and general delivery addresses cannot be used, and your date of birth and occupation are recorded with it.
- Valid, unexpired photo ID issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal government, or an equivalent foreign government, showing your name and a unique number such as a driver's licence number.
How long registration takes
Most people finish in a few minutes. You confirm your phone number, then your email, then your address and occupation, and finally photograph your ID. Each step is saved as you go, so if you are interrupted you can come back to this page and pick up where you left off using the same phone number. Once you are verified
One verification covers everything Bitcoin4U offers. Buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Solana, XRP or USD Coin online with Interac e-Transfer, pay by debit or credit card, send a bank wire transfer for a larger order, or buy with Canadian cash at your nearest Bitcoin ATM. Selling works the same way: sell Bitcoin online and the payout is sent to your bank account by Interac e-Transfer.
